Is the eTrainingOnline.ca training system truly web-based?

Yes, eTrainingOnline.ca is 100% web-based training.  All training presentation and user databases are resident on the Internet.

What are the training programs running on?

MacroMedia Flash.  This is a program that is available on most modern browsers used today.  If you do not currently have this program on your browser, it can be downloaded in a matter of a few minutes at not cost.

What additional hardware or software is needed?

None.  As long as you have a current browser and an Internet workstation you can utilize eTrainingOnline.ca safety programs.  The training programs have both readable text and audio narration.  By having a sound card and speakers, the presentations are a great audio experience, which increases employee retention of the material.  However, it is not required.

What training is required for the safety administrator?

Essentially none.  eTrainingOnline.ca has been built with the administrator and user in mind – making it easy to use and manage.  The site is simple to navigate and the documentation system is extremely easy to use.  A full description help file is available with a click of a button, if necessary, and our representatives are ready to answer any questions you may have.

Is the training documented?

Yes, each time an employee completes a training program, the subsequent test data is saved to a database. Each employee has his/her own set of information specific to that person.  All topics completed, test results, questions answered, date, time and other pertinent data are recorded and readily accessible 24/7 online by the safety administrator.

Are the test records automatically graded?

Yes, also the safety administrator has the option of setting a minimum score allowed for passing grades.  This is shown at the end of the test and options for retested or retraining are provided.

How many different reports can a safety administrator run?

Several.  The safety administrator of your company can access records of each employee within your company.  This includes reports by individual, department or the entire company by date, topic or score.

How well do the programs run over the Internet?

Excellent, smooth and without hesitation.  We have broken through the streaming barrier for these types of programs with an innovative, efficient sequence loading technology to produce the most effective Internet training available.  There is a preload time the first time you run a specific training program at a PC.

What is the preload time?

We load a portion of the training program initially and backload the rest while the presentation is running.  The total preload time depends on several factors.  Number one is the speed of your hook-up, i.e. the modem line/cable connection.  The larger training programs such as ergonomics may take a few minutes to initially load on a 56k modem through a telephone line.  On a cable modem, it would be a matter of less than a minute to only a few seconds on a smaller size program.

Does the program need to preload each time?

No, after preloading the program the first time, it is resident in your computer’s cache file.  The program will then run almost instantaneously upon initiation.

What if the regulations change?

We upgrade the training programs to stay current and in compliance with the latest federal standards.  This is provided automatically – at no cost to you.

Are any new topics coming out?

Yes, there are several new safety training topics currently being developed.  eTrainingOnline.ca has made a commitment to continually upgrade and expand the types and number of safety training programs available to our clients.  This will all be done at no additional costs to our current clients.

Can I conduct group-training sessions with eTrainingOnline.ca?

Yes, this system is set up so that the administrator can run group-training sessions online and have documentation and testing capabilities with little additional effort.

Is there a limit to the number of employees that can access eTrainingOnline.ca?

No.  An unlimited number of employees can be training through eTrainingOnline.ca. There is no limitation.  Also, an unlimited number of employees can be training online at the same time with multiple Internet workstation.

Are government training requirements met with these programs?

Yes, each individual safety training topic follows the government requirements for the academic portion of the applicable standard.  However, many of the government standards have specific practical (hands-on) training requirements that would need to be supplemental to eTrainingOnline.ca.  Also, many site-specific requirements are needed to ensure complete training.  You can contact us about our customized training solutions.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely.  Each user has a company name, his/her own username and password.  The user can change the password at any time.  Also, the entire server system has redundant back-up systems, full fire protection and an independent power source to eliminate the potential for power interruption.

What if I need customized safety programs for employee training?

We provide customization of these programs to meet the specific and unique needs of your company and facility.  Your company policies, procedures, permits and graphics can be used to make the safety training programs site specific.  In addition, eTrainingOnline.ca can develop online training programs using your in-house training materials or from scratch.

Will eTrainingOnline.ca be offering courses in any other languages such as French or Spanish?

Yes, currently some programs are available in a second language.  Eventually, we expect most, if not all, of our programs to be available in both Spanish and French.  Please call for the latest update re: foreign language program.
