General Safety Training Programs

1.  Safety Orientation: Commitment to Safety
This program will present the top ten safety commitments for employees to follow that will lead to a safer workplace. Every employee should be committed to working safely and to proactively participating in the development and implementation of a safe culture within your organization.  This presentation is an excellent safety orientation, whether the employee is a long-term veteran of the workforce or starting his/her first day on the job.

2.  Basic First Aid – Part 1
This course reviews information on basic first aid techniques for treating injuries that are not life threatening. It explains how injury assessment can help determine what happened and how to provide assistance and treatment.   Basic first aid techniques for treating shock, choking victims, bleeding and broken bones will be reviewed in this presentation.

3.  Basic First Aid – Part 2
The basic first aid techniques for initial treatment of burns and scalds, head injuries, eye injuries, chemical exposure related illnesses, heat emergencies and sprains and strains are reviewed in this presentation on Basic First Aid.

4.  Bloodborne Pathogen Awareness
Provides training for awareness and control as per government regulations.  The program explains where bloodborne pathogens are found, what they are, how they are transmitted, and how employees can protect themselves.  Major misconceptions of bloodborne diseases are covered as well as protective equipment and proper handling of sharps and spills.

5.  Slips, Trips and Falls
In this presentation we will review some common causes of slips, trips and falls and the methods you can employ to avoid the injuries resulting from falls from the same level.  Slips and trips leading to falls have injured an increasing number of people in the workplace and at home.

6.  Office Ergonomics
The primary objective of this online course is to increase an employee’s knowledge of ergonomics in order to recognize potential ergonomic problems in the office environment.   The program will explain a number of common ergonomic risk factors that are easily identified and recognized at a typical office workstation. 

7.  Defensive Driving
The application of the information and principles presented in this program on Safe Driving will help you avoid situations on the road that could lead to a collision.  Every time we drive we are exposed to a variety of risks.  How we handle those risks could mean the difference between serious injury and many years of “crash-free” driving.

 

Industrial Safety Training Programs

8.  WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
Details the physical and health hazard categories of chemicals, protective measures fundamental to employee protection, common labeling techniques used to communicate chemical hazards, how to read a Material Safety Data Sheet as well as the basic rules for safe chemical handling and use.

9.  Powered Industrial Truck Safety
This program provides an understanding of operating responsibilities and parameters, inspections, safe driving skills, as well as proper load handling and hazard identification.

10.  Confined Space Entry
Provides training in a way that shows the potential dangers of confined spaces.  It covers confined space identification, physical, chemical and atmospheric hazards, as well as control procedures with a permit system.

11. Control of Hazardous Energy Sources (Lockout/Tagout)
This training program emphasizes not only the government requirements in terms of lockout/tagout, but most importantly, it  covers in detail the types of active and stored energies and controls necessary for employee protection.

12. Personal Protective Equipment
Provides an informative overview of common types of personal protective equipment (PPE) used in industry.  This program gives employees information pertaining to when and where PPE is required, how to use it and an explanation of limitations. 

13. Ladder Safety
This course reviews the safety requirements for portable ladders most commonly used in industry today.  The program will focus on how to properly select, inspect, and use various portable workplace ladders.  Applying the information you will learn in this training session will help you avoid injuries related to the use of ladders.

14. Back Safety 
This course provides practical knowledge of back safety to help reduce the risk of injury or aggravating a pre-existing back problem. The anatomy of the spine is covered to help understand how injury occurs and can be prevented.  Different categories of back problems are reviewed, their common causes, first aid techniques, proper back posture methods and lifting procedures.

15. Fire Control “Portable Extinguishers”
A graphically presented program that teaches fire suppression via the use of portable fire extinguishers.  The different classes of fire and the proper types of fire extinguishers to use are taught in a unique manner to gain understanding.  Most importantly, employees will learn what to do and not do in case of fire in the workplace.

16.  Electrical Safety-Related Work Practices
The design of this program is to meet the safety requirements for “non-qualified” employees.  It provides essential information for employees who work around electrical equipment in a way that is easy to understand.  Methods of electrical hazard identification and control are covered in detail.

17. Occupational Ergonomics
This unique training program presents ergonomics in a way that is easy to understand and apply in the workplace.  A number of practical ergonomic goals such as maximizing neutral postures and avoiding awkward postures are covered.

18. Industrial Fire Prevention
This presentation covers the causes and contributing factors of fire in the workplace.  The basic elements of fire prevention and protection are reviewed in a way that is easy to understand.

19. Fall Protection
This innovative training program demonstrates graphically how to properly use fall protection equipment.  The focus is on the identification of fall hazards, types of fall protection systems, their proper use, care and maintenance.

20. Respiratory Protection
This training program emphasizes respiratory hazards and respirators, including selection, fit, proper use, inspection, care, maintenance and their respective limitations.

21. Hand & Power Tool Safety
This training program is designed to help employees properly handle power hand tools.
